4.V.2020 | Second announcement

Dear Colleagues,

We are happy to announce that the conference "Functions and Operators, 10 years after" will take place ONLINE in the period July 15-17, 2020 (note the two-day time change compared to earlier announcements).

This means there will be neither conference fee, nor coffee nor cakes. We ask you to register before May 31, 2020, and if you have already registered, then you do not have to do this again (see the registration details at the end of this message). The participants who want to give an online talk are asked to submit the abstract before June 20, 2020 as a response to this message, preferably with "Abstract" as a subject. This will help us to schedule the event in the optimal way.

We hope you are healthy and safe these times.

Best regards,
Dariusz Cichon
On behalf of the Scientific Committee
Jan Stochel (chair, Jagiellonian University)
Il Bong Jung (Kyungpook National University)

24.II.2020 | First announcement

Dear Colleagues,

The conference "Functions and Operators, 10 years after" (FaO2020) will take place in Krakow (Poland) between July 17 and July 18, 2020. During the conference we intend to celebrate professor Franciszek Hugon Szafraniec's 80th birthday. The conference is organized by Faculty of Mathematics and Computer Science, Jagiellonian University (Krakow, Poland).

The main topics of the conference include:

  • functions (reproducing kernel Hilbert spaces, orthogonal polynomials, special functions etc.),
  • operators (bounded and unbounded operators with dilation theory in particular, operator algebras and semigroups etc.),
  • interconnected topics (positive definite functions, moment problems, commutative and non-commutative harmonic analysis, mathematical physics etc.)

REGISTRATION

All participants will be asked to register filling up the registration form (including the title of a talk) which will be available in the beginning of March.

PLENARY SPEAKERS

Each day we plan c.a. 2 invited talks, 30 minutes each, and about 10 contributed talks (20 minutes each). Poster session - if there is interest. The lectures will take place at the building of Faculty of Mathematics and Computer Science of Jagiellonian University (address: Lojasiewicza 6, 30-348 Krakow, Poland).

FEE

The conference fee (including conference dinner, excluding lunches, excluding lodging) is 300 PLN (c.a. 70 EUR).

HOTELS

The participants are asked to make a hotel reservation individually. We suggest the hotel "Sympozjum" which offer a lower price for participants of the FaO2020 conference.

CONFERENCE DINNER

A celebratory dinner in honour of Professor Szafraniec is going to be in the Firday evening. Every registered participant is invited.

ADDITIONAL REMARKS
